I am on the road a lot and like the idea of the Liberty. Does anyone use it? If so, is it just as good as the desktop units? Can you easily transfer a project from the desktop to the laptop and vice versa?
Will the new 4000 be available on a laptop?
Jeff

Hi Jeff I have a liberty and use it a lot for same day edits. Also I use a Lacie HD I have 2 250 & a 500. I can go back and forth using the lacie. Remember the liberty has about 90gb. that is why the lacie is so handy. hope that helps.

Jeff,
As Lowell pointed out, the LaCie is the manufacturer of the external firewire and firewire/USB HDD you can use to export your Storyboard using the later versions of Smart Edit. You can read more on our website here
http://www.macrosystem.us/newindex.cfm? ... rylinkID=2
The Casablanca Liberty is no longer available from MacroSystem US (though I do know of an individual reseller who is retrofitting Toshiba M-400 Protege units if you are needing one pronto, contact me directly (off-list) for details. We are hoping and expecting to release a new Casablanca/PC laptop in the coming months, the Casablanca T-5000! It will have a 17" high-def screen, a larger HDD, and DVI outputs -- more info to come in the weeks ahead.
Regards,
Chet
