Is there still a back order for the S4000 Pro editors? Are they still in Beta testing? I read people got them, where there certain individuals getting preferential treatment in purchasing them? How many people have their S-4000 in the U.S. now?

I put in my order way before the deadline for exchanging my Solitaire and my software toward the purchase of a S-4000 Pro. The unit was suppose to be ready for shipping sometime in June. Is there still a waiting list for the units? I'm holding back editing some programs, promising people that I can do their wedding in HD and purchasing a HDTV, thinking I would be getting my unit someday soon.

I keep telling people that ask me, when will I be purchasing the new cameras? Am I'm ready to order them yet. I would also like to order more HD software, but it doesn't do me any good it I can't edit in HD.

An insurance company I worked for is asking for me to shoot some seminars and presentation for their agency in HD and I keep putting them off. I'm afraid they are just going to go someone else. They said they have four programs coming up before the end of the year. I could go out and rent HD cameras, but the would be adding expense to the programs and they are complaing already about the costs.

I don't mind wait because the people that have them can find out all the bugs in the software operation. Then when I get my unit, hopefully it will be smooth sailing

Ronald:

I also ordered mine in in May. I am also still waiting. Every two weeks or so I contact my dealer just to see what he has heard. It looks like there a lot of orders and Germany is working hard to build enough machines to fill them.

It is an advantage to wait a little while a few bugs are shorted out. I believe Bogart V.2 will be comming out soon.

Hello Ronald,

Yes - there are many customers in North America who are still waiting for their S-4000/S-4000 PRO to be shipped to them. There was no preferential treatment - we have and continue to go down the 'list' of those who placed their orders. We did receive a disproportionate number of S4000 PRO models so more customers who ordered that unit received theirs first but we have also shipped some of the S-4000 models as well.

There is more software that remains in testing - you can view the latest software details here : http://macrosystem.us/newindex.cfm?show ... linkID=101

We are waiting for the fully featured Bogart SE OS (Operating System) that provides all the Archive, Import and Export Functions. I was able to show that at the WEVA Expo 2008 earlier this week.

In summary - yes, the units are released. There are more coming and you shall receive yours in the order we received the order.

Regards,
Chet

Thanks for the prompt reply. Wonderful, I will just be patient. I would rather have the newer software coming out. People will just have to be patient like I have to. :P

Chet,
You said:

Does this mean we will have all the import and especially export options that Jorg showed off at the April get together? Ie: Enterprise functions with the list of 700 compression schemes designed for specific devices? I bought my PRO expecting these options and was VERY dissapointed when I turned it on and there was a large "hole" in my purchase.
Thanks,
Paul

Yes Paul!

You will be receiving the fully featured Bogart SE OS with the Archives and the Media Manager that provides all those wonderful capabilities you saw at the March Get Together. We are likely to hear more about these in the coming days as Macrosystem DE will be showing all the latest and some forthcoming products at the IFA Show in Berlin the end of this week.

I am told we can expect the fully featured Bogart SE OS by October in NTSC... but, as always I defer to our excellent Testing Team to verify its' readiness.

Regards,
Chet

You're welcome -- and let me follow-up with a timely announcement from Jörg Sprave, CEO of Macrosystem DE:
Hello,

We have almost finished the MediaManager software for the BogartSE machines (S 4000, S 4000 Pro). A release is expected immediately after the upcoming IFA show (starts this Friday).

The MediaManager has archives for video, audio and photos, plus a fully functional DVD player software (commercial DVD player software kit with remote control optional) and offers an internet browser, network/USB player, too.

One of its strongest features is the export function. You can save a BogartSE video (SD or HD) into the video archive of the MediaManager, and then burn or write it to DVD, BD-R, USB in a huge variety of formats, including DivX, iPhone, Youtube and many more.

You can also import most formats out there into the video archive of the MediaManager, and from there read it into any Bogart project in SD or HD.

Same for the music and photo archives. You can now store all your CDs or MP3s in the audio archive and quickly use any such track in Bogart.

Basically, we will release what I demonstrated at the MGT this year (I believe there is a YouTube video you can watch).

This Bogart SE OS update will come out before BogartSE2, these Media Manager/Archives features will be free of charge to S-4000 owners.

Regards
Jörg Sprave
