Audio sync on HDV Recorder

I finished a project in hi-def and made a standard DVD copy of it for a few friends. I want to clear my Solitaire Plus for return having received my S-4000 Pro. In order to save my material in hi-def, I connected the Solitaire Plus to the HDV Recorder and recorded the same project. The recording resulted in a slightly out of sync program when played back through the HDV Recorder but not on the DVD copy. How can this be corrected? I've forgotten the advice given long agao when the unit first came out and this was the issue. Please advise.
