4:3 to 16:9

I have an old project of pictures shot in 4:3 and Arabesk out. I heve re-imported it using ksebara into the 6000. I need to add it to a 16:9 project. If I import the pictures to the HD project can I keep them 4:3 with bars on the side?

To maintain the Pillarbox effect, I would import into a 4:3 project, then use the Clipboard to move into a 16:9 project. As long as you have selected the 'borders' under the 'Options' button in Clipboard you should get the result you're looking for.

That was good advice for something that's one of the most misunderstood features in video, putting 4:3 video into a 16:9 project, and having it appear correctly proportioned.
Many videographers seem to prefer that the 4:3 video appears horizontally stretched in the 16:9 project, so as to avoid those "unwanted black bars" on each side. Geez, what bride wants to look fat on her wedding video !
By the way, I also noticed in Clipboard, under Options, it also says "Import trimmed sections", and I noticed that whether I have it checked or unchecked, it seems to make no difference, because the 4:3 video appears correctly proportioned with black on each side in the 16:9 project, so I was wondering what it's function is.

If you clipboard a scene that you have "trimmed" either the "in" or "out" start/end points, the "trimmed" portion will also be included along with the clip and could be "re-adjusted".
