Now I done it. I put a DVD, not knowing what is on it and I can hear the DVD burner whirling and whirling and whirling. I tried to eject the tray and it won't open, by the screen method or the button pushing method. I know there is a secret method to make the tray open with a bad disc inside. I done a search and can not find what the secret method it. I have a s2000Pro unit. Please advise. The search method does answer my problem.

Power down the unit. Power up and during the process press the ESC button while booting up. Mat have to try it a few times. Works for me on the S4000P

Ronald - in addition to Lou's spot-on suggestion to use the 'ESC' key, in the latter versions of the Bogart OS we also have the option to open the DVD tray using the 'F4' keyboard command. See if that works for you.

Regards,
Chet

Well Chet, Lou Bruno beat you to the punch, his method work so fast I didn't have a chance to use your method. But will definitely make a little note in my files for future reference in case I'm dumb enought to put another disc, that I don"t what's on it, again. Thanks to both of you, and a happy New Year to you all, on the bulletin boards.

I'm having the same problem just now with my S4100, no disc inside but it won't open up to let me put my new v7 disc in. I have tried holding down the ESC key on the keyboard whilst booting up and using the F4 key, it still won't open. Any other secret butting pressing sequences I could try ?

My S-6000 came with a key that you slide in from the side and press a button to open the tray. Not sure about your unit.

Glad to say that Allen's was just a lead that had fallen off the DVD unit and so all sorted now, once the case was removed.

Indeed it was Mike, easy enough to fix too. Thanks for your input...

I advised Allen to make up the recovery USB stick for the S4100 A real DOG AND PONY SHOW though.

Either that or just get an external USB DVD/BD unit and then you can just press the button on the front :D
