Hello everyone,
I just purchased a Kron, my first NLE system and I love it. Have made several videos, mainly of my daughters music plays at school. This stuff is addictive. I now have two cameras, light kit and just built a jib crane. Just too much fun! I am now looking to use it for training and promotional videos at work. The question I have is about looping music? Can it be done? The video I am doing is 15 and 30 minutes long . Very much along the lines of the discovery channel "how its made" type program. Manufacturing environment etc, so I have very techno sounding snippets of music I have made in Sony's Acid, most are 30 seconds long, can these be looped within the Kron audio settings to span the length of the video? Thanks for any help.
Steven

Re: Loop music?
Hello Steven,
Sure, just keep adding your short audio sample in the audio track below the story board by hitting the "add button" and add it again and again, until it fills the time that you need to fill. This way you only need to have the song or music or what ever audio you need....captured only once. You may add it to the storyboard as many times as you need. You can control the volume of each section and have the audio fade up and down as you require to be under narration and live on-camera speaking parts.
The next step is to place each one on a different track and have the end of one song overlap the beginning of the next one and if they are on two different tracks you can fade one down while the next track fades up. This will create a smooth and pleasant background to your videos without the harsh starts and stops you will get if you just butt the songs up against each other as in the top paragraph.
IN order for us to help out in the future, it would be a good idea to fill out your profile information as to what operating system you are using and what add on software is in your Kron. To find out what you have, click on "System Settings" then "Install Product" and a drop down window will appear listing all the software in your machine....this will make our answers better as it will pertain to what you are actually working with and we won't have to guess at it. Your operating system label will be listed at the bottom left hand corner of the page after you hit System Settings.
If you have questions about ranging the music back and forth or trimming the music to fit a scene, just ask....we'll be happy to help out with all the future steps in your NLE experience.
I am happy that you are having a good time with your first non-linear editing system and also that you enjoy working with your Kron. We hope that you will visit the forum often and feel free to ask questions at any time. This is the friendiest place on the web and I hope you will find that you like this place as well.

Re: Loop music?
Steven,
Do you know Shelly Wilson? She lives in S MD as well. She is a very good creative editor. She doesn't use Macrosystem, but you can get some great ideas from her. She is also on the board for the Baltimore Videographers Association. They have a monthly meeting close to BWI. I am sure she would be delighted to take you along for the ride. I was a member of the BVA before I moved to NC. I learned so much. I highly recommend it.
Go to http://www.baltimorevideographers.comfor her contact info.
If you get in touch, Tell her I referred you.

Re: Loop music?
Jim,
Thanks for the reply, using the add button does make sense. Almost seems too easy, I was looking for some sort of check here box for loops Added the information to my profile I can see by reading through the forum where this information does help to ease the trouble shooting.
Jeff,
I have seen some of Shelly Wilson's work. Amazing stuff. But I have unfortunately never meet here. I will check out the link to the BVA. I was trying to see if the local community college had any video programs. They are just now building a studio and getting a video curriculum together. They may have something by the first of the year.
Thanks to both of you for the warm welcome and the excellent help, its nice to know there is a place to ask questions without feeling silly.
