Iphone video into Cassie

It was reported that getting video out of the iphone and into the cassie required I-tunes and several steps. I looked on-line and see that there is a composite video cable ($40.00) that plugs directly into the iphone on one end and into female composite connectors on the other end. Why couldn't this be done and "play video" directly into the cassie (Solitaire) for editing and DVD burn?

Anyone tried this?

Instead of a composite cable, you might try either the 30-pin to USB cable or Lightning to USB cable. I think they might be better than an analog composite cable. I am not sure if there are any problems with this method.

However, the method I use is very simple, although there are a few steps.
1. Use the cable that you use to charge the iPhone to connect to your Mac (or PC).
2. Open Preview on the Mac. Under File menu, use the "import from the iPhone name".
3. Import the movie .mov files to someplace on your hard drive
4. Transfer the .mov files from the hard drive to a thumb drive or other card drive.
5. Using the thumb drive, put it into a USB input on the Cassie.
6. Import by recording the files using the USB designation. The files will have the same name as you have given them either on the iPhone or if you modify them on the computer.
7. The files can be played and edited on your Cassie.

The quality should be just as good as the iPhone can make.
