new camera and cassie

Hello all
I am looking to go tapeless and do not know which camera to purchase. I would like to stay with sony if possible .
I currently use a vx 2100 . Budget confines me to stay under a grand. As of yet I do not have the newer cassie. I am using solitaire and kron plus.
Again due to budget constraints I am hoping to pickup a used newer model that can be used with tapeless cameras and edit sd & hd.
With cameras I'm not sure if it can be with hard drive built in or memory cards. I am not very knowledgable in this area.
Any info would be very helpful.
