I was just talking with a media mogul at a church who says that video is being shot and stored on a hard drive in the camera. Then when the pictures are moved out to the editing system, the camera is connected to the editor via USB, and the camera's HD shows up as a drive for the computer, the same way a card reader shows up as a drive when you dump a card into it. Don't how workable that is with a standalone editor like the Cassie, but at least moving video into the editor via USB is a good idea, seems like to me. Keep the firewire input, just add a USB port as well. In camera systems where you have a choice of storing on a card or HD, the card reader would load in the same way. Any ideas? USB to firewire adaptor?

Jim,

It would be compatible with the new third generation Bogart SE machines, but not the second generation Smart Edit machines as they only have USB1 ports.

I do not know if a USB to firewire adapter would work as our systems, but I doubt it.
