have downloaded SE8 boot into HD of computer. Do I burn a CD of it, and put the disc into the Casablanca and let it update?
How is that done? What do I do on the screen of the Casablanca to make that happen? Thanks! Is there new info on the features of this OS?

Jim,
You need to burn it as an ISO file.
You can download a nice free software to do this here:
http://www.deepburner.com/?r=download
You want Deepburner Free 1.9.
Start Deepburner after you have downloaded the Bootable Smart Edit 6.2c file, choose ISO file, choose the 6.2c file and burn.
Power up the Ren and open the DVD tray, insert CD, power down, power up, follow on screen instructions.

Any reason I can't use the dvd burner software I already have?

If it gives you the option to burn an ISO you should be able to. I have had much more success with Deepburner. It is a free download.

Well, first off, it's actually a CD you will be burning, not a DVD and there is a difference.
As Cliff mentioned you can use any CD burning software that will burn in the ISO format.
I just was supplying you a free one that works.

In Nero, is this the same as making a bootable disc? It won't come out and identify it as an ISO,

I am trying to use onboard software to avoid possible software conflicts.

Don't know Jim, there are literally tons of software choices, some will burn the proper format, some won't.
That is why I supplied one that I have verified is compatible and is free.
Try the Nero and it it works fine, if not. . .

Hi Jim,
I burn all of my ISO format CDs with Nero Burning ROM 7.
When you choose CD up left, the first position below is CD-ROM(ISO)
that's the position you should burn the CD with.
But you didn't tell us which version you are working with.
Hope this additional will help you.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding what is going on here. When I download update software from the Macro site it seems to be an ISO file already, all have to do is to burn it to CD in the computer, it asks me if I want to do this. (Win XP service pack3.) Then load it into the Cassi and follow the instruction. Am I missing something?
