Could someone help. I have a Claro with 6.1 smart edit. Been doing a lot of editing, transferring mini DV tapes into DVDs. I just started getting a msg on black screen "Boot from CD then click enter or any key" has anyone had this issue? Thanks jim.

James, I had the same message but with my 4KPro, the editor wouldn't do anything but show that message. Took it to my dealer and he said that the HD plug had shaken a little loose. He unplugged it then plugged it back in and everything was fine again. Might be the same thing with yours.

Paul, thanks but that didn't work. When I get the screen I also noted that it directs me to press any key. I get no response from keys even if I do a fresh start with Smart Edit 6.1 CD in drive. I know the keyboard works. used it on another computer. All other wires are tight. Over weekend I unplugged main power for 24 hrs and it stated up when I replugged it in. Has anybody else had this problem???

Hmmmmm, have you tried a different HD? But atleast you got it up and running again. It could be a HD starting to act up, which is NEVER good.

Thanks again Paul.... Didn't replace it but thought about it. If nobody else in this forum has any suggestions I may try replacing HD. Replacing it is probably no different that installing HD in regular desktop PC.

Paul/Chet: Thanks for help but believe I found the problem. My iLink/DV board popped out at one end of its socket. I reseated it and everything seems to work ok. Oh, and MacroSystems sent me a set of instructions on how to reboot. If anyone needs, let me know.

During my troobleshooting I inadvertenly pulled the purple/white "Reset Switch" cable off its terminal pins. Could someone look at their Claro and tell me correct pin location. Looking from front of Claro down onto the motherboard, I have the connector on center pins, first two at bottom. thanks all , love this place.
