Cassie products and FireStore DR-DV5000

The FireStore DR-DV500 utilizes a variety of recording formats including .avi type 1. Anyone with experience using this hardrive to import to a Cassie editor. I know all .avi Type 1 files are not created equal. Lou?? I am contemplating using this Hardrive on a JVC DV5000 camera and importing into Reno+ via firewire.
