Anyone heard when the "full" version of BBW for Bogart "will or if" it will come out. BlueBox just doesn't cut it. Or is something better coming to replace it.

I wish I had kept my Solitaire when I purchase the S-4000/Pro. There are so many programs on the Solitaire had and I used, that haven't been transfered to the S-4000/Pro. I'm trying to be patient and work around some of these obstacles.

I know they are trying to do the best they can with the time they have. But I would like to see them develop some of the old stuff before they starting new programs. Of course they don't make money on programs that are paid for in the past, otherwise they would be out of business. Hopefully by the time the wedding season comes around again they will have the change over complete.

We are in the process of providing a Bogart compatible version of Blue Box World - in fact, it is in NTSC testing. I cannot say how soon it will be released as I leave that to the testing team.

I understand your need to have access to these additional powerful tools and we are continuing to work on them. When you see new product like Twixtor released before some other title you are anxious to use on your S4000/PRO unit - know that
1. that product, providing incredibly smooth slow-motion, is/was one of the most highly requested software titles from customers who upgrade to the S4000 product line
2. this product (and several others that remain in the development stage for release in the Bogart environment) are developed by 3rd party software engineers. So if you see other products being released first/along with items you want or are waiting for, these other items are not slowing down the release of others.

Hope that makes sense... we are as eager as you are to get these software products out to our valued customers!

Yes Ronald, I agree with you.
I still have a SolitairePlus but since all my software was re-coded for S-4000Pro I now only have a Solitaire with basic software and this is if I had
no Solitaire.
Thus the lack of special software on my S-4000Pro has pulled down my creativity to a low point.
I believed in the sentence "Coming Soon".
I got my S4K(PAL) in May now we have December...
Still waiting anxiously for the release of Photo Studio and CBPaint.
Most worse is this situation for all those having to earn money with their S-4000Pro.

I usually update at an early stage, but for several reasons I decided to wait this time around. I am still therefore operating with my Solitaire, although I have updated to SE V8.

From the amount of feed back from this and other sites, it would appear that this decision may well have been a wise one, at least on this occasion.

Now come on all you unofficial beta testers, get those problems found and fixed, so I can go ahead and change.

All joking apart, it is not just the MS issues, I am waiting to see how HD cameras, HD DVD’s, HD recorders / players etc, will develop. I know technology is always changing and as soon as most things are purchased, they are almost immediately out of date, but this step would appear to be much greater than normal.

Having just read what I have written here, am I turning into Luddite?

Thanks for the quick reply Chet. I hadn't heard anything about BBW so that's why I asked. I knew it was by a 3rd party so we were waiting on them. I use it ALOT and I'm hamstrung without it. Chet, can you tell us if it has any new features, or is it hush-hush. I for one would like to see it more powerful. Go beta go...go beta go.....

The term Luddite means to shun or destroy the progress of technology, it originates from English history whereby machinery was destroyed to prevent progress. This took place in or around 1779, just about the time Beachy bought his Avisorus.

The Oxford dictionary definition is “members of bands of English artisans who raised riots for the destruction of machinery; persons similarly engaged in seeking to obstruct progress."

Wasn’t this just three years or so after you guys decided to go it alone. Now just look what you missed.

Isn't this forum great, not only can you get your editing questions answered but you can also learn about the history of another part of the world. Thanks for the explaination that software was still being up date for the S4000/Pro as well as software being developed for newer stuff. I was not aware of that. I'm not complaining, I was just making a statement. I'm a patient person.

That explaination about the word "Luddite" reminds me of a company, that destroyed the progress of technology. It is right now in Washington begging for a goverment bailout because they are financially in trouble. The company came out with an electric car years ago, then withdrew them from production and destroyed the one's they had loan out to people that were using them for a trial period. It's not what I know, it's what I heard.

If you are referring to the documentary "Who Killed the Electric Car", it is a must see for the entire world. In the 90's there was a test group that were using and enjoying electric cars. They went just as fast as gas powered cars and went from 0 to 60 in 4-6 seconds. The difference was that it cost about .60 cents for recharge, versus the going rate for gasoline. Which by the way, just a few months ago, I paid 4.75 per gallon. Granted things are much better now, but don't fool yourself and think it will stay this low forever.

After viewing it, ask yourself, who would have wanted to destroy this technology? What did they have to gain from doing so?
Sorry for going off on a tangent, but I am very passionate about this subject.
