TIP FOR SAVING:"S"4000 FIXES DOWNCONVERT ARTIFACTING

This is for people who own BOTH the new "S"4000 and still have their RENOMEE or SOLITARE ( and PLUS) units as well.
If the editor imports and loads HDV fottage into the aforementioned units, we all know that a SD proxy file is made in the SMART EDIT scene bin.
However, the proxy SD scenes will have green ARTIFACTING both under the scene and at times on the side of the scene when making a SD DVD in ARABESK or exporting the SD project to tape.
I just discovered a workaround today .
===========================================================================================================================================================================
.After downloading HDV "footage" in SE 8 on my SOLITAIRE PLUS......I then added same to the SB
.Created the HDV scenes in the SB via the CREATE menu in the FINISH window.
.Powered-up my LaCie external HD and went to the PROJECT window
.SAVED the project as a DV BACKUP
.Powered-up my "S"4000K
.Located and RESTORED the above SB from the list of scenes on the LaCie HD-SD 16:9 ANAMORPHIC PROJECT
.Upon restoring the scenes there was NO MORE ARTIFACTING.
Somehow, the "S"4K cleans up those annoying artifacts that the user must spend time and cover with a BBW function such as RECTANGLE etc. in SE 8 and 7.
RESULTS: The HD project can now be used as a downconverted SD project to DVD or tape without any artifacting. The original HDV project from the RENOMEE or SOLTAIRE can also be archived as such and saved for Blu-ray AVCHD or regular Blu-ray purposes in the future.
Granted, this only works with having two different editing systems but some users may have both.
