importing a logo

I am looking at making a video for an organization and wonder how their logo can be imported and used as a back or layer to imprint when an official is speaking or use full screen at the end. I am sure this is doable, just need an idea of how. Thanks.

If this company's Logo is imprinted on a seal or plaque at their headquarters, say at the presidents office, or just on a wall, yuu could either take your Videocamera and a tripod and just take a nice 10-20 second shot of the logo and Import it into your Renommee as any other video clip. Better yet take a Digital still camera shot of it and import it into your unit using either photo transfer or Photo studio. Once it is in your Renommee you could use PIP Studio to use it as an overlay over the official speaking. They may have the Logo on a video file that you could have them place on a CD or DVD.
Our units would not accept a DVD file made on something other than Arabesk, but you could use a stand alone DVD player and import it Via S-Video.

Bob’s suggestion is a good one, but you could also scan the logo from the companies literature (copy as a jpg document) and feed this via Photo Studio to your Cassie.
We of course do not know what the background of the logo is like, but if it is on a solid colour, one that is not contained anywhere else in the logo, you can use a combination of BB Bluebox World and PIP Studio to place the logo where required.
If you could supply a little more detail of the logo, I could advise on a procedure that may work.
In the mean time below is a process I have used for a specific water mark effect which may give you some ideas.
B28. Water Mark Using Bump (effects pack 5)
This procedure will enable a water mark or logo to be placed on a scene, similar to those on the television channels.
This process describes the building of a logo using the titling program, but a logo can be imported by one of various methods and using PIP, both sized and placed as required. The logo will need to be placed on a black background.
1. Select the scene in the story board that the logo is to be superimposed upon.
2. Using “new”, make a black scene of the same length as the scene in 1 above and “add” this to the story board, behind that scene.
The next sections refer to the making of a logo, but if a logo already exists, place and size the logo, using PIP Studio, as required on the black scene (e.g. place the logo using PIP in the lower right hand corner of the black scene) and move on to step 7.
3. With the black scene highlighted, select “titling”, “add”, “adding page” or “through fading page” and set the fade time as required, normally zero.
4. Select the “edit / enter text”, “text”, “font” “dings symbols EFN”, set the size to 70, “OK”. From the text box, select the foot symbol, “OK”..
5. Select “style”, “colour” and set to mid grey, with the alpha at 100%. No outline, shadow, 3D, etc. Click on “TE”, “boxes”, “extended” and “minimise”. This reduces the box down to the minimum size for the symbol. Using “move” place the box as required, e.g. in the bottom corner of the screen. Click “TE”
6. Select “box”, “add” “TE”, “extended”, enter some text or initials, I have used IRP, make this colour white, minimise the box as above and then place the box over the foot symbol. Click on “TE”, “OK” and from the main titling page click “full size” to see if the initials are in the correct place over the foot. If necessary go back and adjust as required, before clicking “OK
7. Create and make a scene of the result.
8. Place this new scene behind the video clip, select “fx transitions”, “add”, “bump” and set the time to the full duration.
9. Using the “full size” key, set the light source and intensity as required, OK and “create”
If your company logo is on a solid background, if not already black you could change it to black and follow the second part of the procedure.
I do not currently own or use CB Paint, but I know this process can be easily achieved if you do use CB Paint. Lou or Volker will no doubt advise if you do use CB Paint.

Thanks for the help, guys. Interesting you mention Cb Paint. Its not covered in the training manual DVD's, so I don't know what to order that covers and teaches it.

It is with great interest that CB PAINT was recommended. I am not going to give the step by step but rather an overview of the capability. I think I will cross-post this to the CB PAINT section as well:
Logos, as long as they are not elaborate can actually be cut out in CB PAINT and made into a custom brush.
I actually was able to place a TATOO onto a video!!
.Make an almost extreme close-up of the LOGO using a tripod
.Open CB PAINT as a NEW
not current project
.File >import sequence
.Import the very short clip into CB PAINT and check-off: SINGLE FRAME in the IMPORT FOOTAGE window which appears as a prompt- that is all you need-one frame
.MAIN PANEL>Free cut brush and simply cut out the logo which can be tedious
.Tools>click CUSTOM BRUSH will open and the EDIT window appears to adjust size..click KEEP ASPECT and you can SHRINK the logo>APPLY CHANGES
.The CUSTOM BRUSH bin will automatically open
.Click BIN and STAMP down your CUSTOM BRUSH attached to the cursor into said bin
.Import the scene you wish to add the logo
.NOW...Make an empty ANIM layer on top of the above imported scene which matches the length of your imported scene. Anim is made via the NEW drop down menu in the layer.
.Retrieve the saved custom brush in the CUSTOM BRUSH BIN
.Stamp it down in the Right lower corner then SELECT the entire ANIM layer...now enter the custom brush via "U" on the keyboard then ENTER on the keyboard.
.To feather or soften the edgers of the logo EFFECTS>CUBIC BLUR>ALPHA>3
..ADJUST the opacity which is located next to the LT icon....you will see a bar that states 100%....simply move this slider bar to the left. Your bottom scene will appear through your now transparent logo.
ADVANCED users can use the BUMP feature:
NOTE: CB PAINT has a BUMP feature in effects that can be fine-tuned...that's a lesson in itself
NOTE: The logo bump feature can also be assigned to a hidden layer by pressing "J" on the keyboard-again another serious lesson
NOTICE BELOW HOW I PLACED A SMALL TRANSPARENT LOGO IN THELOWER RIGHT CORNER FROM ANOTHER SCENE:

There are a few training DVD's offered by MSUS but most of the training with CB PAINT relies on breaking it down and teaching yourself via trial and error as to where everything is located.
