No Blu Ray player will play BD-R's burned on my S-4000 Pro

I have a S-4000 pro running Bogart 2.6c and Arabesk 4.6 bruning discs on BD-Rs from Ridata, Phillips, and Memorex. I've burned the BD-Rs with authoring mode AVCHD and "media used settings" in Blu-ray and used a few DVD+R when setting is on DVD (AVCHD). No disc I've made will play in any blu ray player I have tried. Granted 3 of the 4 were Sony blu ray players (with AVCHD emblem imprinted on them) but they were different models. My blu ray palyer is a sony and it won't play standard DVD discs made from this thing but plays anything I burn on my Solitaire just fine. The 4th was a BD-R drive on my brand new laptop from Toshiba. Using TOshibas software and the Windows Corel Win DVD the computer does not recognize the disc. I can't even see the files on the disc. Windows 7 thinks the disc is blank. I can clearly see the burn on the discs. Also when I put the disc back into the S-4000 pro it says the disc is finalized and ok but I thought Ksebara could read it and re import the data but it does not. (maybe I'm wrong about that) Finally, though I have selected "Verify" under settings in Arabesk the disc does not verify and Phase 2 of the burning process doesn't really happen. It pops up for a few seconds after phase one is done but the progress bar never reaches all the way to the right before the disc is supposidly finished and or finalized. Please help!

Something doesn't sound right. Corrupted download? My two Samsungs and PlayStation3 plays the ARABESK HD discs fine. As does my son's SONY. Now, my computer won't play the AVCHD files on disc but I thinkl that must be software related. Curious: Doe Media Manager play the discs in AVCHD? I am using DVD-R's.

Thanks Lou. I do need to try the discs in MM but my set up is currently a 2 monitor set up in VGA mode which I read doesn't work with MM. Probably explains why the computer crashes every time I try to start MM. I also read that the PS3 does play these discs so I'll need to find one to try it in. One of my sons friends probably has one. I think a trip to the electronics store is in order. I'll update on this later. If anyone else has any ideas please post!

MM works in 2-monitor mode. MM won't work on the VGA side. The VGA side is just the interface (GUI) for Bogart. When you click MM on the BOGART side, then MM will be displayed on the DVI side.

Here is a little known hint: If you are using PS 3 or any Blu-ray player that has an output that contains 1080P as one of the menu options and the HDTV is also 1080P compatible, go into your Blue-ray disc menu and shut off 1080P which will be found in the CUSTOM setting. This procedure prevents stairstepping of lines and fast movement. Set the Blue-ray player to 1080i. This does not effect the 720P setting on a Blu-ray player.

Ok, Media Manager kept crashing the S-4000 pro. I thought it was because I had it in VGA mode. I took it out of VGA mode and put it in DVI single monitor mode. It crashed again or would shut off and reboot. I reinstalled Bogart 2.4c and finally MM booted up. Not only that it played all of my BD-Rs I thought were coasters. Except for the stuff burned on memorex BD-R. That played but with frequent pauses and skips. Ridata and Phillips both played perfectly. SO onto the electronics store to find a Blu Ray stand alone that will play these. Thanks Lou for suggesting the re install. It has restored my rattled faith that I know what I'm doing.

The new Samsung Blu-ray players are just below $100 US dollars or slightly over for a more sophisticated model. They play ARABESK HD rendered discs in AVCHD PLUS the new Blu-ray players allow a USB drive to be inserted into the player at which time our AVCHD, HDV, MP4 (MM), AVI files are ALL recognized and play fine. Just remember to shut-off 1080P in any Blu-ray player when using ARABESK-if your Blu-ray player has a 1080P mode.

Thanks again Lou, got a Samsung blu ray for less than 100 bucks. Plays everything beautifully.

5500 works....I think they all work and it works BETTER than my Playstation 3 as it will except higher bit rates that probably will be offered in ARABESK 5.

Samsung BD-D5250C. Plays even the memorex disc I burned in HD which Media Manager played but with skips and pauses. I did have to change it's output settings to 1080i. With 1080p the picture was jittery but the s-4000 pro is a 1080i system so that makes sense. It also did not play discs burned in AVCHD on DVD very well but I don't anticipate needing this functionality so I'm not worried about it. BD-R's have come down a lot in price lately.
