Re: SONY SLT77
Syl,
It sure looks impressive, Syl. I have the A55 with the same Translucent Mirror Technology and its 10fps Still Acquisition power coupled with its relevant Full-Time fast Auto-Focus with video. The 55 does look amateurish and small but amidst its hidden photo and video tech specs, it can be a very innovative workhorse. I've been contemplating on getting the Cannon 5D Mark II like yours, but I have become very comfortable with the controls and functionality of the the A55, the A77 and its 24MP sensor should be a welcomed upgrade, not to mention the enhanced video features (1080p, 24p..etc). I guess I'll never become a Canonite/Nikonite, I've been technically engraved with SONY innovations for good. Naturally, it's not the equipment that counts, as we all know for years as videographers. I may never be as good as a DSLR filmmaker like you are, but going out in the field with an arsenal that makes one comfortable enough to face the visual challenges will surely enhance and swiftly pry out our inherent creativity in the process.

Re: SONY SLT77
- The EOS-1D X still records movies using the H.264
- codec but it is the compression type within this codec
- that has been changed (!!!).
- ALL-I means every frame for itself!
- no more 12 minute clip length, clips can now be up to
- 30 minutes. (clips over 4GB will continue in new file)

Re: SONY SLT77
Looks very impressive, Syl. Thanks for sharing. Maybe it'll bring down the current pricing of the "inferior" models in the process.
