Hi Everyone,
Another late night editing due to some problems in 'Arabesk. It started cutting out audio at the end of films.
In the storyboard, I had done some adjusting of the audio, including muting the original clip, adding music and some voice over tracks.
This all started a few days ago on another project on which i had adjusted audio volume on many clips.
It all sounds fine in the storyboard, etc. but when I add the film and play it, it cuts out the end of the film. for instance in a 3 hour film, it cut out the last 15 min. of audio.
Then, with a 30 second commercial spot, with voice over and music, it cut out the last 5 seconds of audio. Just before the audio went out, a neon green horizontal line appeared across the clip! I am supposed to take the commercial to the client in am!! The voice over was imported from a CD and was recorded in our recording studio. The music added was also from a Professional CD. This has never happened before, is there some kind of bug in my Arabesk? Do I need to order a new version or another All Software CD?
I have made sure there is no overmodulation in all clips. I have made seperate scenes of clips , moved all finished storyboard to an empty project before adding into Arabesk.
I have removed Arabesk (3.4 I think) and re-installed two times ... I am freaking out a bit, as I now have to get up and go into work, write the news for our TV station, and figure out what to tell the client!
I forgot to mention, I am editing on Renomee.
Thanks, Kim Williamson

Re: audio drop out in Arabesk
I have not heard of any bug like that.
Three hours on a DVD, dang, you must be using the lowest settings and compressed audio and I don't have much experience with doing that.
As for a 30 second spot as a DVD (MPEG2) why don't you try adding a 20 second black (created in New using Color set to Black, not Black) at the end of the Storyboard and burn that and see what happens.
If it at least moves the mute and green flash five seconds (last five seconds of Storyboard) after the actual 30 second spot you will at least have the 30 second spot you can use.
I don't know what exactly you are using this for, but could you burn it as a AVI - Disk Transfer file for whatever you are using it for?

My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.
