News about Jim Meeker

Post by CasablancaExpert »

I heard from one of his friends today and then had a telephone conversation with Jim Meeker, and with his permission I share news about Jim with our community here:

Jim experienced two strokes this past week and is now back at home following a few days in the hospital. Jim indicated the doctors performed tests and they assured him that the cause of the strokes has been identified and there is likely no further afflictions to occur.

Jim shared with me that his right arm and his right leg feel numb to him. He is walking around but with some lack of stability, and he said he can type but his right hand/fingers don't always hit the keys he wants them to. The doctors shared with Jim that the blood vessels sometimes find new paths and might rejuvenate those areas of the brain that were damaged due to the lack of blood supply following the strokes, and in turn may reverse the effects Jim is feeling in his leg and arm.

Jim expressed solid confidence that the MGT 2010 - March Get Together 2010 will definitely go on as planned. You are likely to see some publicity about this next year's exciting event in the weeks following Thanksgiving. Save the dates now -- Monday, March 8th through Thursday March 11, 2010.

You can always visit the official MGT website for updates and info as we move closer to the event: http://marchgettogether.com/Clarion-Next-MGT.html

For those wishing to send Jim your thoughts and well wishes - you may send him an email to jimmeekersr@myway.com

For those wishing to send a card or note via US Mail, please send to:

please do not expect a reply email at this time... that's a blunt comment from me (Chet) not from Jim

I'm sure this problem wont stop Jim from checking the BB, so I would like to wish him all the best and get well soon from his good friends across the pond.

My prayers are with Jim and his wife and family. If I know Jim, he won't let this get him down.

Agreed, I am sure Jim will be checking the BB, even if not typing responses and I wish him all the patience and perseverance it will take to overcome this set back.

Let us know if there is anything we can do to help you long distance regarding the March Get Together 2010.
My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.

Casablanca Unit: S2000 with all software. I also have a Prestige that I used on my film transfer station. I have B4W loaded on a laptop. I have a S4000 Pro that I am going to trade in for a discount on software for my B4W setup. I even have my first Cassie, the AVIO that I am going to hook up. Not sure what I will use it for but I want to see it run again.

We all appreciate Chet letting us know about Jim. Being the force of nature that he is I am confident that he will be totally recovered by the MGT. If he is not the heart and soul of our user group he is the glue that keeps everyone together in the Cassie community. GET WELL SOON JIM!
