    Any one with a JVC GY HM700 importing progressive HDV footage into a Solitaire?

    Settings information needed on cam capture rate and Cassie settings?

    Ron,

    Set to 25 mps in the menu. This is the compression ratio for HDV. The 700 has firewire. The SOLITAIRE should recognize the HDV setting albeit in real time streaming via 1394 not USB 2.


    If you use 35 mps or 19mps with the 700, you will have to use a card reader via USB which is impossible on the Solitaire-only Bogart.



    FACT with the GY HM 700: Both the .mov file and the .Mp4 files are nothing but wrappers. They both contain MPEG-2. Think of a wrapper as a peanut shell. However, when you open the shell, it contains cashews and not peanuts. The old saying: "Walks like a duck...Quacks like a duck...must be a duck" is not the case when dealing with wrappers.
