Photo Studio 2

I have been trying to make a photo collage where each picture flies onto the screen as the collage plays........... this is shown in the video manual for Photo studio. I understand how to make the collage itself but i would like the pics to individually enter the collage ???? This was not exactly explained in the video manual. Any ideas ???

I have not seen the video manual you refer to, so I am not sure as to your exact requirements, however, below is a process I use which will build up the collage using the PS2 collage program, in conjunction with wipe transition. The photos do not exactly fly in, but are as the transition suggests, wiped in.

This process cannot be done as one PS2 movement, it requires several separate scenes and layering, using the wipe transition.

Hope this is what you are looking for.

B33 Using Photo Studio 2
1. Import the photo’s, backgrounds, etc into PS2 in the normal manner.
2. After entering PS2 from the project “edit” screen, via “special”, from the main PS2 menu, select “Collage”.
3. Select “New”, then “New box”, scroll down the photo selection box and highlight the photo or pattern which will be the collage background and click “OK”. If a plain coloured background is required after entering “New”, select “Options” and from the menu click the “Background colour” box, select the colour required and hit “OK” and “OK” again.
4. There will now be a blank screen, with the selected thumb nail size image at the bottom of the screen and the position drop down box next to it. Use the track ball to place the image in the top left hand corner of the screen and the left click.
5. The drop down box will have changed to size, again use the track ball to bring the + symbol down to the bottom right hand corner and left click. The image should now completely fill the screen, click “OK”
6. This brings back the collage scene bin, with the background scene in the bin. Click on “Create scene”, set the scene length as required, say 6secs and then “OK”. This later places this scene in the project edit scene bin.
7. With the background scene highlighted in the collage bin, select “Edit” and from the dropdown menu select “New box”. Now select the first photo that will be placed on the background scene and click “OK”.
8. This time position and size the photo as required on the background (see fig1) and click “OK”. This new scene will now replace the background scene in the collage scene bin, again click “Create scene” set the time and click “OK”.
9. Again with the scene from step 8 highlighted click “Edit”, “New box”, select the next photo in the sequence and hit “OK”. Position and size the photo so that it overlaps the first photo, see (Fig 2). Click “OK” “Create scene” and repeat the process until all the photos are placed as required.
10. When the collage is complete, exit the collage function and exit the PS2 program and click “OK” in the special window. This returns you to the project edit screen, where the sequence of collage background and photos will be in the scene bin.
11. Add these in order in the story board and place a 1sec wipe transition between each photo and the result will be a background scene with photos building up in sequence. If it is preferred that the sequence starts with all the photos and the top one is removed in sequence, then place the scenes in the story board in reverse order.

PIP STUDIO 3D?

I'm glad you brought that up Lou, PIP Studio 3D?
I often read on the bullentin boards about getting CB Paint. Well there are a lot of other programs we paid for and use to have, we don't have now, with the S4000Pro.
I wanted to use the PIP Studio 2V 2,0A for programs. In the install programs it says it is activated. But when I go into the transition screen, I can't find it. All there is, is the old PIP studio, the one you can't manipulate. And then, PIP Studio 3D is another story. How about Blue Box World, Deluxe Titler, Surround FX, and Akaba? Surley (is that how you spell it?) it can't be because MacroSystem didn't sell enough of the software, they don't think it is worth the time to make it work in the now avaliable 4000Pro.

Where is my PIP Studio program, I'm waiting over a year and a half? Yeah I know, it's coming.

I'm not ignoring the fact, MacroSystem is working hard to keep up the that latest changes and the speed in technology. Also, they don't make money, would not stay in business if they don't sell new equipment and software. I'll buy more new software and equipment when I get to use the old software I paid for.

I totally agree with you - what SOON means in Germany is a year or so or more. I don't have much add on software and the ones I have are compatible with Bogart so it doesn't bother me too much but I would like some fancy titling programs and maybe PIP 3D but they are not available so far.
They still don't take the loyal customers serious that keep there company afloat. At least the new Bogart operating software is doing fine in DV.

Who cares that they can make the machine render an effect a tenth of a second faster, if you can't use the programs you paid for what use is there to make faster machines. The loyal customers will only take so much before they switch to another system and for me I will have a good hard look at other PC based editing programs when I need to upgrade to a new machine.
