Hey Girl, I just wanted to let you know that I am backing up all classes on DV tape now. It seems to be working well so far. The video really looks good. This will certainly make my life easier at the end of the year. The fire wire is working really good too. I can't believe I have been using these machines for 10 years and had never used fire wire. I took the YC and ran it to another monitor so I can monitor whats going in to the HD700. Its got a 9 inch screen but thats small. Thank you for your advise as well as the others that helped during my quality crisis. LOL! It seems solved. I also used the kresbra or what ever its called. it also worked well. see you soon Bob....

Hi Bob
First of all I am not a girl last time I looked anyway - no hard feeling as it is not a common name.
Glad you are convinced it has taken a while before we got you there from now on you would love it.
Have you loaded some footage back in and ran the auto split over it? You will find every scene change will be a cut
so that will be more easier to find the scene you would like for later editing. You don't have to run the auto split over it just
after recording you can do it any time but it is much easier to do it straight after loading your footage.
Tip: Make sure all your cameras are set to the right time and date as with going firewire you will have that data available to you by
clicking on the info button. This could come in very handy when you do the races and don't know what race is what by clicking
on that button your time recording will be displayed and you will have no trouble knowing what race is witch.
Another tip is to look at the recording time before rewinding the tape so you can use the timer function when recording your footage in and you can do better things with your time than waiting.

Re: Jeanton
Sorry about the gender mistake. I haven't known too many Aussies in my days. I was in Sidney in the 60's. Thanks for the tips. I will learn to let it work while I do other things I am sure. The edited video that I put on DV tape looks good. Even on my big monitor which I have always thought was grainy. I have discovered a couple tricks as I added races after races. I went bac a couple times to day an looked at the transition between the videos looks good. I am even archiving my grashes on dv tape. I thought about keping them on a hard drive but I use different hard drives to edit the races on. Thanks Bob...
