Re: Quiz
That is to difficult. I wouldn't do it that way. Plus, you cannot get the pip shape long and narrow to put in the green tube.

Re: Quiz
argh...
I imagine one scene with many white horizontal lines. Then you add the Ripple effect to it.
Create a scene and use this as scene 1 followed by scene 2 with the actual menu background. This background contains some blue squares, painted with Akaba. Then you can add Bluebox or Bluebox world to mix scene 1 and 2 in order to fill the blue squares with the animated white lines.
I know you didn't do it that way, but that would be a solution, I guess
This thread is fun!

Re: Quiz
Very creative!! But not a very good use of your time
Hint 4, I think? It takes about 5 seconds to create. Don't over think it. It is an IP effect.
I do like the fact that this thread seems to be encouraging everyone to think of new ways to do things.

Re: Quiz
Hi Jeff, coming in late here, but I see magic lights for the lighting effect and then heatwave to "animate" the "electricity" and purple circles.
My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.

Re: Quiz
Thank you.
Nice use of an effect in a different way Jeff.
What led you to this creative use to "amp up" this IP Effect to make a practical end result like this?

Re: Quiz
Like I mentioned, I wasn't happy with the menu as a still frame. I wanted to add some sort of movement. To me, the bars looked like some sort of a frankenstein gizmo and was calling out for electrical current moving through the pipes. The first thing I thought was, "if I only had CB paint".
I thought there had to be a way to create the effect in my rene. I just started going through all the effects and trying them out. I had never had the need to use the heatwave before.
Since then I was playing around with a logo and have used heatwave to animate hot air coming out of the nose of a cartoon bull. I first drew the hot air in akaba, then added heatwave to make the air move. I then used a transition that "moved up" to make it look as though the air was rising. I then reversed the action to make it look as though it disappeared. It is nothing hi-tech looking, but works well in the way the logo will be used. Here is the link. Once there, click on the bullcity film. http://iplayerhd.com/player/menu1.aspx
