W ell to those in the know, which ain't me, I used the timer function twice now. I set the time and left it both times I came back and the screen said recording stopped. Is that what its supposed to say. The reason I ask is that when I run in the house a few times and I was downloading and either stayed longer or miss estimated the time left and that is the screen I saw then. Thanks inm advance. Bob...

Hi Bob

There are two reasons why it does that;
Firstly if you are using new tapes and there is a little break in the recording by viewing it back before ending your shoot the
machine will stop recording in DV as it thinks that you are finished filming.
If you desire to watch your footage back before ending your shoot I suggest to shoot a few seconds of nothing on that tape before rewinding
this would cover you to have blank tape.

Secondly you could have set the timer to sec rather than to min upto the first 60 sec it goes into sec - after that the timer will show mins.
Just stay with the machine for the first minute and see if it turns off then you know you have to move the slider further.

Most likely it is the second option if you haven't had this problem before.

Hey Jeanton.
I hadn't had this problem before because I haven't done it before. I don't guess it hurt anything. It looks ok.
I will keep trying to use the timer. What should it do when its done recording? Go back to the edit screen? I went to a meeting tonight with a company that wants to do a internet TV show on racing. Does anyone know what it takes to stream video on the internet? I can imagine the band width required is tremendous. Bob...

Hi Bob

After it stops recording go to your edit screen and press the split function then use the auto split as normal and it will split up your footage.

No I haven't got any experience at internet streaming.
