s 4100 won't restart

Just solved my arabesk problem, now i have another in less than an hour. I imported photos from a usb stick, they entered in quickly with photo transfer though immediately a quick flash of red box and then a message that the program was not exited properly and to shut off with power button icon. i did so, restarted, and now nothing comes up. it is completely frozen though the power is on because i see the led on. i cannot even shut it off. frozen.

Did you manipulate one of your JPEGS in a PhotoShop software?

Did you try the '2-finger salute' (pressing both the OK and power button on front right corner of the unit)? Hold them down together for 8+ seconds and the LCD screen should read 'Force Power Down'.

Then disconnect AC power and let your unit 'sit' for awhile (1-2 hours) before re-booting.

If your front LCD panel reads 'Macrosystem' - the system IS on and you simply need to select the appropriate monitor output. This is done via what I call the Emergency Monitor Switch. This is accessed by holding down your right large trackball until you get the message in your front LCD menu and then using the left trackball to change to the monitor set-up you have. never got a chance to work with the images and they weren't edite previously outside of the unit. just loaded them, message flashed, unit asked to be shut down.

OK.....try both a 2-monitor mode and/or single monitor mode. See if one or the other works. Reported issues in Photo Transfer involve 2-monitor modes. So try single/DVI.

.ALSO...try to isolate a specific JPEG as the cause. Corruption will cause this problem

.Lastly, try importing via PhotoStudio 2 instead of Photo Transfer.. If you have PS 1 and PS 2 both present in the INSTALL bin, you MUST DELETE PS 1 as it interferes with PS 2.
