is there a rule of thumb?

Post by videojim »

I usually put at least 3 seconds of black on the front of a video to help the eyes open up and look at the video. How much is a suggested amount? Thanks!

Depends. If it's going straight out to tape for archiving, I might add 10 - 20 seconds on both ends. I can always trim it when I bring it back into the editor to burn a DVD or a Blu Ray.
