Titles in a Box

Hi. I use a Renomme Plus and wish to have a V-roll title in a particular part of the screen....in a box?
I can set up the box size and place while in the Title edit mode and all looks OK. When I go back to the regular edit screen add the title to a scene ( oe even if I've added it before) the background is Ok but there is no title ( in the box area) in either preview or create. What am I doing wrong? Help please.

You need to make sure that the actuall title is on top of the box. You should place first the box, then add new box, and within that box write the title. Try! Hope that helps.

The V-Scroll title text can to some extent be placed in a certain horizontal area of the screen, but it will still travel the full height of the screen, i.e. from the bottom to the top of the screen. V-Scroll is designed to move the full height of the screen.

Clear all the boxes that may be there from previous titles, by entering “Boxes” and pressing the “Delete” button until there is just a dotted line near the top of the screen.

Type in the new text, making sure the width is correct, by using the return key to start a new line. e.g. if the text is to be on the right third of the screen, then use the return key to make sure the text is only one third of the screen width.

Next enter “Extended”, and “min size” then “Move” and place the box where required, e.g. the right third of the screen. You may also be able to move the box up and down, depending upon the number of lines used, but this will make no difference to the final result.

When created, the text will move upwards from the bottom to the top of the screen, but in the right third of the screen.

Just had an other think and if you really do need a scrolling text in say the top corner of your video scene, then there is a way, albeit a little more lengthy.

Make a blank coloured scene that can be later keyed out, some colour that is not in your video scene. (A bright green, say and it will need to be the same length as your main scene) Place this in the story board and add your scrolling text, making the text the full width of the screen and make a scene of the result.

Remove the originals from the story board and add the video scene followed by the text scene to the story board. From transitions, use PIP Studio to place the title scene on the main scene. Again make a scene of the result.

Finally again place the original video scene in the story board, followed by the PIP scene, and from transitions use the BB World program to key out the background of the coloured title box.

You should now have a scrolling title on your video scene in the place you need it.
