Bogart 3.2 OS No Display

I ran into the same situation yesterday after I done a full install of Bogart 3.2. Tried to turn it on three times, the last time I just let it sit for 30 minutes. Then when I came back, still nothing on the screens. I put the Operating Software 3.2e Disc in the tray and shut the system down. When I turned on the unit again I heard the drive winding up and I didn't do any installs, removed the OS disc. Shut it down and turned it on again and everything worked fine again. We'll see what happens this morning when I turn on the system again. I'll be right back.

Fired up right away, but I keep having to set the clock every time I turn on the unit. If that's the only problem I have, I'm not complaining. Of course I haven't done a lot of editing with the new operatiing system yet.

the last update in PAL is 3.2c so NTSC is a step further since you write 3.2e?
I can't confirm update is changing the clock settings.

No, that has to be a misprint (3.2e).

My Error, You are correct, it is 3.2c, and as I went and checked, it fired up right away again. Seems like my problen went away.

Describe the ARABESK problem please?

NOTE: If you are rendering to HD ARABESK in 4.9 make sure your project is rendered from a 1920X1440 project, even if it is originally AVCHD.
If you MUST use 1920X1080i (nobody can tell the difference anyway) then set your ARABESK to "GOOD" for rendering and then you will have a long, long wait. SO....use 1440 for ARABESK and the other project format settings 1080 and 720 for USB and HD archives. FINISH to tape will always be 1920X1440 or HDV------long rendering if coming from 1920X1080i project.

The NTSC version is different than the PAL version. For instance, there is NO DVD drawer issue. The reverse audio channel issue reported in PAL land is not present in NTSC. Etc.

Makes me wonder if 3.2C is really 3.2E but 3.2C is the designated NTSC number?

In regards to quadcam....place 1.2 back for now if you have stuttering.

So far, I am finding 3.2C very stable and no crashes. Perhaps this is what the original release should have been from the start, but again, no crashes here. Monitor issues are usually user issues in that the monitor mode must be set to reflect DVI,SCART or VGA.

In PAL we are experiencing many similar problems since 3.1 release.

Now in 3,2 there have been some fixes but also new problems.
The combination of 3.2c and Arabesk 4.9 is a real "DROSS"
All those problems have been reported but different replies came to same problem.
"At the time we can't confirm your problem"
"Some users have reported the same, we submitted to devellopping team for clearance"
MS should not release 3.2c NTSC since it obviously is "mirroring" the PAL problems.
But I think they need some more unpaid beta testers in the NTSC user community...
As they do with PAL...

I don't have a stuttering Quadcam Lou it is when I record a long scene like a ceremony and run the auto split
over it the scene splits up in 2 or 3 or more bits even though I never stopped the tape.
When I imported the same footage in Bogart 2.4 it has No cuts in it or frames missing and worked fine.
This for me is a big issue as you have to manualy sinc the cameras again and again.
Have had a few times that it was perfectly in sinc at the start but then it went out of sinc later on by missing frames.

The arabesk thing is that I had 5 goes at burning one disc the others didn't go past the first 2 mins of the burning stage and
when I finaly had one I copied it on my PC because it didn't want to burn a second one. ( the burned one had those faults in it any way)

The past two days I had to fire up and force shutdown 3,4,5 times to get the OS to work, so I stiil have the problem. However I have other problems now.

I used the new "add on software" disc to load all the software. I noticed the Motion 3d software icons in the transistions had all red dots indicatiing they were all DEMo mode. Went back to install set up and saw they were set to demo mode. I activated all the Motion 3d software I have, went back to transistion and there was none of the Motion 3d icons listed. Now they were all gone. Went to all, sure enough they are listed but when you highlite of select them they shows nothing there

Went to all in the transition list and it shows there are listed, but when I would highlite them they came up blank. Now I lost some more sortware. Reloaded the old software disc and tried that, no dice. Loaded all the codes I had on a thumb drive and it says they are active.

The same thing with Dics Transfer in the "New" section. I went to all in New section, and it shows Disc Transfer when you highlite all. When you select it, it's not listed, just a blank.

What gives, am I doing something wrong.

At this stage of the game, I would download a NEW 3.2C and start from scratch. Do a full install. Sounds like something is corrupted. I have 3.2C in BOTH units and all is working fine so far.

Well Lou, I guess that is the route I'm going to have to take. I did start editng a program, fortunately I have dumped the edited portion to tape. Glad I don't have to much to loose on the hard drive since I had recently loaded the newer 3.2 OS. Thanks for the follow up response.

Think hard drive back-up with your OS 3.2c. All scene bin and story board items will be reconstructed.
