store and share

I have been trying to use store and share last few weeks with very little success. I have a 1TB lacie ext hd electric which has worked ok. I tried a Iomega 500 with no success. loaded project than tried to use next time get note failed to load project files lost all. Got a WD320 from target on sale $47. Loaded looked ok when tried on other S4000 nothing there and it will not stay on shuts off and goes to internal with of course not shut off right. Anyone having success with portable HD. I am using 2 screen 1VGA and 1DVI.

No problems with S&S Pal land and can shut of while using external and on booting up it boots to internal drive,drive used is a Seagate Expressions 1tb.Have you tried 1 screen mode ?

I went to one screen DVI put the WD320 added some footage came back to internal drive for awhile then went back to ext. S4000 shut completely down had to force quit then would not show anything when powered back up. tried to hold mouse down nothing showed up. Shut back down unplugged left for 20 min turned back on and on DVI ok. I am afraid to try WD ext again.

Not good news,not a techie person so just ideas from me,is it a USB drive? have MSUS not recommended a make of drive, Martyn of Dalco here in the UK recommended the Seagate Expressions 1tb and touch wood worked out the box.

What version of Bogart are you on here in the UK been a few problems with various versions,MSUS seem to road test the o/s a lot more than MSDE do.

If no projects on perhaps a full install of o/s and software

Hi Charles glad to hear you are not having any problems with store and share tried again this morning it says files restored from previous something go into to project and bam completely shuts down with project setting on front of 4000 have to force shut down. This happens on both of my S4000's and both iomega and WD ext hd my ac powered Lacie works ok. Is anyone in US using store and share with an external usb HD?

Which version of Bogart are you on - your on screen info suggests v2.7c ?

Macro 'suggest' that Store 'n' Share is useable with v3.2c;

I have 3.2 bogart in both machines. The ext hd formatted fine following instructions from MS. I even made two DVD from the Lacie. Then Sun went back to it and all was gone. I think I will restall 3.2 without losing all projects and see what happens. I wonder if I have a bad CD of the store and share or the system CD?

Hello Lowell,

I have been using the Store-N-Share with two WD 320 hard drives, formatted automatically by the S-4000 and they both work very well. No problems at all. I can switch back and forth between them with ease. It does go back to the internal drive each time I shut it off. But that's to be expected, and is not a problem for me. I really like the way it works for me.
