I just installed SE 9.1 from SE 7. Made a 6 second scene with a scaling page title and with a one second fade time, also to cover the entire 6 seconds. Placed a 1 second Crossfade transition between preceeding scene and title scene, expecting the title to go thru the crossfade as it had in the past when I was on SE 7. Instead I got a weird bluish pattern during the first half second of the crossfade, the part where the crossfade and title overlap. After many changes if titles and transition effects, I pinpointed the problem to the transitions that have the blue dot which mean they do not have to be rendered to view in full screen. All of the other transitions work fine. Also, I found when I clicked on the time for the title and chose "entire scene" the time would be shortened by the amount of time the transition overlapped into the scene. SE 7 would not do this. If the scene was 6 seconds it stayed at 6 seconds. With 9.1 I would have to use the range and add the time to make it the time of the full scene. Has anyone had this problem yet with SE 9.1? I think it is a glitch in the program and needs to be corrected by the manufacture.

Re: Title and Crossfade transition problems with SE 9.1
Hello Ronald,
First, I would suggest click on the new Render Storyboard button found in the Edit Menu (top left corner... blue/orange icon). If not that, go into Finish, select DV and render/create. It might be that your real-time transition (signified by blue dots) is not finalized.
Regarding your question/observation on the length of titles affected by transitions - it has been my experience that this has been the same for many versions of the OS. It's because Casablanca uses Dual-Stream processing -- when you place an effect (transitions, titles or IP) on the Storyboard that occupies the 'space' available. BY using the Scene function we can add an additional effect like a transition, etc. Or we can - as you mention - overlap a title on top of transitions by manually doing so using the Range function in the Title Menu. I just tried this in SE8 on my Renommee Plus and had the same behavior as you discovered. I am curious if doing the final render on your effect will provide a clean effect, rather than the blu-ish thing you mentioned.
Hope that helps!
Regards,
Chet

Re: Title and Crossfade transition problems with SE 9.1
Response to Chet's Suggestion:
Have done all that you suggested earlier, but did try again. Same results, WILL NOT WORK. It is interesting that you say you tried on SE 8 and did get the same results that I get on SE9.1. I suggest that you try it on SE 7 and see what results you will get. I guarantee that it will work because I still have it on the second drive of my Kron Plus and it works beautifully. There IS a problem glitch in the SE 8 and 9 that needs to be addressed. Untill it is fixed if I want to use transitions and titles that overlap I will be using Spicerack for the nearest thing to a crossfade, or use the second drive which has SE 7.
