I might have the opportunity to bid on a couple of editors that I used at my old job.
What would be a good offer [for me] for an AVIO DV with a lot of software and SE7?
What would be a good offer [again, for me] for a S4000 Pro with all software?

- Casablanca Unit: S2000 with all software. I also have a Prestige that I used on my film transfer station. I have B4W loaded on a laptop. I have a S4000 Pro that I am going to trade in for a discount on software for my B4W setup. I even have my first Cassie, the AVIO that I am going to hook up. Not sure what I will use it for but I want to see it run again.

Mike,
An AvioDV is still a nice, basic machine for SD editing, but not a feasible editor for HD work.
It has virtually zero resale worth outside of the Cassie internal group so you should be able to pick that up very cheap as it might not even be bid on if put up on Ebay or such.
In my opinion, the S4000Pro is worth between $2500-$3500 depending on whether it has a DVD or Blu-ray installed and it's condition, but again it has almost no resale value outside of the Cassie community so you should be able to get it for considerably less from your former employer unless they have knowledge and ties to the Cassie community BB or Carroll's List.

My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.
