Importing from nxcam
I have a Sony NXCAM 128gb flash memory module. I am trying to get video off of it via usb. It just sits there saying it is importing. The clip is 5min long. Are there any special settings?

Again, no personal experience with this, but you are trying to import it into a hi-def Project, not one set for DV, right?
My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.

As Tim suggests, make certain that your project settings mirror the settings you used on your camera to record the footage (HD/SD, screen resolution and P/I settings). If this is not accurate you may have difficulty/lack of success importing footage.

Re: Importing from nxcam
The NX-5U also has TWO ports for the SD card. Does the SD card work in HD? NXCAM is a fancy designation for AVCHD. The cards will work. I am VERY curious and have been curious for quite awhile about the attachment module and always wondered if it is recognized.
If the SD card work and the module does not, I am going to assume it (module) is not FAT 32. YIKES!!! The module is about $750 dollars.
Makes me want to keep my Hybrid HVR-270 which uses BOTH tape and CF cards simultaneously. The CF MC SONY unit is FAT 32. Can use AVI, DV and HDV and transfers fine via usb and even HDV via firewire from the unit.

I got a clip to import by using media manager. I imported to project via archive but got no sound. Frustrating 4k and not working with the editor.

Re: Importing from nxcam
Hello Bill,
I apologize if I am not understanding but in your reply it is not clear if you did attempt to check or modify the project settings and if you then what results you receive when you attempt to import/record from the Record Menu?
I do know that some of the newer camcorders will read successfully (import the file/s) when using the flash media card (Compact Flash or SD card) into a card drive/reader in the Bogart V3 OS. (some camcorders will transfer while directly connected - others need to use the card & card reader, which connects into the Casablanca USB port)
Regards,
Chet

Re: Importing from nxcam
You will find that setting under the 'Format' menu in Project Settings menu:
Interlace: 'on (Interlace,i)' or 'off (Progressive, p)'
This settings should match the recording made in your camcorder.

Chet
