what kind of title effect?

Post by videojim »

I am looking for a title effect where the letters come from a point on a map, and grow larger in a few seconds. I would do this more than once to make a point about an area, city, etc. Ideas?

Jim
Delux Titler 3D is your best option, it will do what you require and much more. It takes a little practice to get to know this program, but is well worth it when you have.

Titles can be zoomed in and out, made to rotate, flipped as they zoom, individual letters moved as the main title moves, etc, etc. This is in addition to designing your font 3D look.

I’m not sure if Chet has a starter instruction of this program, if he has it will be well worth getting hold of it.

If you have the program I would be happy to give you some ideas to build the effect you are looking for, but strongly suggest getting to know the program a little first.

Yes indeed - I do have a couple of resources for you Jim related to Deluxe Titler 3D (recently released in a new version for the Bogart OS).

You will find a print-able tutorial on my website here:
Introduction to Deluxe Titler 3D
http://www.casablancaexpert.com/articles/20090731_3

and a 46-minute streaming video here:
Creative Titling with Casablanca Deluxe Titler 3D

I would also suggest you check out the Zoom Letters title effect. You can click on position to adjust where the title zooms out from.

Ok, I see how the title can come out of a point on a map. Now, how to make a still image do the same thing?

Jim -- are you asking to have a still scene now grow from the background to the foreground (like Zoom letters does)? If yes, we should move this conversation to a different thread as this one specifics title effects (sorry, my interest in keeping forums easily search-able for folks to find what they want).

But if this is what you want, I would use PIP Studio (or PIP Studio 2 if a person is on a Bogart unit)... you can modify the effect to have it zoom from the background. I created today a step by step tutorial to do this (with both PIP Studio & PIP Studio 2 variations) on my website here: http://www.casablancaexpert.com/articles/20101104

The intent is to have either a city name or picture come from background (map) to full screen to show what kind of ministry is occurring at a specific location. The whole area is former Soviet Bloc countries, of which there are 16. I want to use one map over and over, with different locations being the starting point for images to come full frame from a point on the map. First the city or region name, then the picture.

This is all to be done on a Renomee, the very one you saw at Dallas.

Yes Jim - the process I have detailed in the article/link on my website will allow you to do the effect sequence you ask for above. And I put in specifics for both Smart Edit using PIP Studio as well as Bogart using PIP Studio 2 to allow folks on either platform to succeed with this effect (understanding that you are the one asking the specific request/question but this forum has a long after-life of folks who benefit from our posts in the weeks & months after originally posting).

At one point in the video, the names of countries will come up from their source positions. At another, pictures of work done in various locations will come up full screen.
