Greetings!
My prestige with OS7 was recently returned from MacroSystem but has been unstable until it crased ane refused to boot up.
I used a smart media card with oS 3.2 and got it to boot up and edit fine. However every time i try to install Arabesk 2.3 from a smart media card, the following happens:
The message I get when I try to install Arabesk from the smart media card is below:
Your hard disk is not prepared to burn a DVD. You can use this product only as a demo version. If you have a DVD burner inside please do a new installation of main software again and prepare the hard disk for DVD.
I then hit OK and It shows the progress bar installing. It shows Arabesk as active and asks me to remove the smart media card and when I do it gives me a message "System will restart"
It then freezes at the welcome screen.
I have been trying to install Arabesk 2.3 from a smart media card so I can then install OS 7.
Any suggestions? I am all the way in Jamaica and recently flew to the USA twice to get the machine fixed, so another trip is out of the question.
Arabesk will not install

It's been some time but......................................I think SE 3.2 will only play ARABESK 3. Perhaps someone can confirm this?

Re: Arabesk will not install
When Prestige says "Your hard disk is not prepared to burn a DVD" it usually means that the hard drive was not partitioned for Arabesk when you installed the O/S. Or there is no DVD burner connected. When carrying out a FULL installation Prestige will check which model DVD burner is connected, and make an appropriate partition on the hard drive (larger for a dual layer burner).
You can check the partition by selecting System Settings from the main menu and then click the box bottom left of the screen containing the serial number. A window will open detailing your machine spec. The last items are the partition size. It should be at least 6gb for a an older burner and around 13gb for a newer one (109 and later?). It will also tell you the RAM size. Should be 256mb for SE7.
If this shows a smaller partition size I would check that the cables are connected to the burner.
What you really need is a SmartCard with SE7. If you then install SE7 from the card, your machine should read an add-on software CD without having Arabesk installed (to install Arabesk etc). Versions prior to SE4 also need Arabesk to read CD's.
NB. The hard drive partition is only created with a FULL installation, not an UPDATE.
Incidentally, why did you need to return the Prestige to MS? The above could by symptoms of a failing hard drive.

Re: Arabesk will not install
find it unbelievable to hand over the machine back to you if it wasn't fully operational or atleased your current OS
installed on it and Arabesk. My dealer in Australia would have never returned it to me that way. Especially when you fly over to
the US to get the machine fixed.
