Dear Casablanca Friends,
I have been working on a fairly large project, taping 7 30-minute sessions and have finally arrived at the process of authoring a DVD. I selected the films to add and chose the media type as DVD DL and then got the following error message:
"The system partition is not large enough to handle dual layer DVDs! This option requires a reinstallation with a current system software!"
Has anyone experienced this message before? And will a non-destructive install of the operating system take care of this?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: DVD Arabesk 4.1 Dual Layer
When carrying out a full installation, your machine checks which model burner is installed. If that model is designed to produce DL disks then a partition of around 13gb will be made on the hard drive to cope with the file sizes required. If it is an older burner the partion will be around 6gb. You can check this by first going to Arabesk and Settings. There is it will tell you the model of the burner and the media it can handle.
Secondly you can check the partition size by going from the main menu to Systems Settings, then clicking on the box bottom left of the screen containing the serial number. A window will open showing hard drive size, RAM and partition size.
No, a non destuctive install will not solve the problem, it needs a full installation.....if the burner is DL capable.

Re: DVD Arabesk 4.1 Dual Layer
Thank you Martyn,
In the meantime I have decided to go with two regular DVDs, as that is something I'm more familiar with. The DVD burner is a Pioneer 110 which should be capable of DL, but I will verify the partition size tonight. I keep forgetting to click on the box with the serial number. Just the other day I was looking for the harddrive size.
