Question
Some of you guys prompted me to archive my years edited classes video on Dv tape, with which I was faithful with all year. I am in the process of using the video From these tapes and I was thinking that it would record right back into my Cassie. It stops recording after each weeks racing. I am not complaining, its all in one place for each class, but is there any thing I can do so the whole tape will run into the Cassie without stopping? Thanks Bob.....

Re: Question
Yes,
Don't have any un recorded spots on the tape. The Cassie will shut off the recording if it runs into empty tape after a few seconds. If you are familiar with doing insert editing on your camcorder.....you could go back into the tape and cover over these blank spots with a black or white inserted recording. Be careful to only record over the empty spots and don't erase any of the valuable video that you are tying to keep. It's tricky but it can be done if you take care.
When archiving to tape....always let it run for 10 or 15 seconds after you are done with each section. Then when you start to record the next section back up over the extra black footage that you recorded after your last session and begin your new recording over that spot so there is no empty space on the tape. No control track pulse and your Cassie will stop recording.
So keep your archives full with no empty spots, if you want the Cassie to record the full length of the tape without stops.

Re: Question
Thank you Jim Thats probably the problem. I tried to make it continueous but I guess I wasn't sucessful. It is a lot better than it was taking the hi-lites off the original tape. Thats what I have done for years. I Have about 13 classes to do yet. I had 3 tapes on the class I just finished yesterday and I had one week that ran thru. I guess I need to work on getting more black on each clip. I think I will put a black scene at the end of each. Then I can insert the next clip on top of good black. I never thought of that. I love this board.......... Thanks Buddy. Bob....

Re:
Try this first.
On your SmartEdit startup screen goto: SYSTEMS SETTINGS, then ADDITIONAL SETTINGS, then CUT RECOGNITION and set this to TIME.
If this don't solve the problem, run the imput from your cam into a VCR then back out to your Cassie
