reading MOV files
Which machine can read an MOV video file, and how can it be imported? I have some on the drive from reading a card, and wonder if I could move them into a machine by disc?

Re: reading MOV files
Jim,
The Casablanca Smart Edit OS does not have the capacity to import/read an .MOV file.
You would have to use a Bogart OS (V3+) Casablanca model to import an .MOV file. You could likely use an application software in a computer to convert the .MOV file to a a compatible AVI file but there are some challenges there. It may be easier to play back that .MOV file in a computer that has a video board and play back 'live' into your Smart Edit Casablanca.
Regards,
Chet

Re: reading MOV files
If I put the file on a disc, could a 4100 read it? The dealer has one, and offered to let me try. Then I could burn a DVD, making it an mp2, and then use it in my Ren. Right?

Yes Jim - that should work for you, just have the dealer save the file (once it is on the S4000) as a file using Disk Transfer. You could then read that AVI file in your Renommee. Good thinking!

YES! An uncompressed file would be even better. Now I just hope the 4100 hasn't been sold when the guy comes in off the field next time.
