Re: Casablanca a good idea?
When I first switched to Digital from the old SVHS days of editing linear, I was horrified of the fact that I had to learn how to use a computer. I started out with the prestige, and literally started editing right out of the box. That machine ran DV for me for 8 years with no breakdown and still runs great to this day. I now own the s-4100, and it works just as great, or even greater. Really fast stuff. Of course it is a little more involved and has a higher learning curve, but its not that bad. Glitches? a few, but it took me a long time to realize, all companies tend to release their units a little too soon and fix them later. I would personally use the s-4100, its been out for a while, and save yourself some money. It works just great, (cant give advice for AVCHD, I use only HDV)...
