AVCHD and HDV

Post by erictom »

Just wondering if its possible to import AVCHD and HDV (tape) files into the same Project and mix-edit the two formats? If so what will the final export file be?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can mix all kinds of formats in one project because Bogart creates a whole new format for editing (with I-frames only).
The final project can be output to tape (HDV) or to USB devices (AVCHD) or to disc (SD DVD, HD DVD (AVCHD) or Blu-ray).

Additional to Volker''s reply:
you may import HDV-Tape and AVCHD-Footage to either HD-1440 or HD-1920 projects.
It's a question of output quality.
Although I don't see any difference watching my HD-1440 or HD-1920 films on a full HD-TV.
Render times are shorter in HD-1440 projects.

It might be just under my nose and failed to detect it, but where is the adjustment setting to make your HD imports HD1440 or HD1920?

Settings--->Project--->Select--->Chose empty project--->OK--->Format--->
Chose--->Resolution--->HD1440x1080i---HD1920x1080i--->OK
That's it then import.
Chosing different HD formats came with early BogartSE 3.x if I
remember this well.

,,,From Format SETTING, I only have a choice of 4:3 16:9 Anamorphic 4:3 Progressive 16:9 Progressive and HD (No sub-choices). You mention early Bogart 3 version....I haven't upgraded since Version 2. Is that why I'm not seeing it?

Thanks

Yep, Eric
so it is.
If you like the feature you should update to Bogart 3.0/3.2d
