OUTSTANDING as always. This is the type of material that should be shown to the FCP people-the ones who snicker at me at our video meetings. The full potential of our editing system can produce wonders. Good Job Joel!!!

Joel,

You continue to amaze me. Great job. I loved it. And yes, it should be shown to the FCP people who look down their noses at our Cassie community. Keep it up my friend.

Joel,
While I agree that it shows what our systems can do and is inline with FCP, I do feel that is also the problem with this video. Let me make it clear that I think the camera work is outstanding! I especially like the opening logo and the motion you put in it.
Personally, I think you overused to many effects. It looked to me that you used effects just to use them. Many of them did not add any value to the clip, especially towards the end. This is just my opinion and the client may absolutely love it. At the end of the day is all that matters.
Thanks for sharing!

Jeff,

I have to disagree. The client loved the video and I just closed another $5,000 project as a direct result.

I agree, there is a time and a place for effects. I don't think I over-used them at all.

Depending on the subject content, a good promo video should be eye catching and interresting. The more plain a video looks, the more the audience will not view the complete video.

If you are talking about the scrolling PIP FX towards the end, that was one of the main points the client loved.

Joel

Like I said, if the client loved it, that is all that matters. You don't need to try and sell me. My opinion is what it is.
