Standard Def played back on Blu-ray player looks bad

Standard Def played back on Blu-ray player looks bad
I am still shooting SD and using DVD-Arabesk 4.1d. Things look great when played back on a regular DVD player but when I view the same DVD in a Blu-ray player its fuzzy and choppy. Is this an issue with Arabesk? becuase when I play another SD DVD in the same Blu-ray player it looks fine.
