Good Morning All

I am thinking about purchasing the Renommee from the swap shop on this site.
I would like to know if anyone can give me some insight on what the best method to do that is.
Is it worth the asking price? 1500.00
I am on very limited budget.
Also is there anything that I can do if it doesn't work properly?

If you are satisfied with just SD productions and you will be making your money back, let's say with a big project, then I would consider it. However, if it is NOT the PLUS model, I would negotiate the price, especially after reviewing the amount of included software. However, you will not recoup much of the money spent when you go to sell the unit due to a fading technology.

If you intend to use a modern, non-tape, camera that utilizes FLASH media and USB for importation, then you are throwing your money away by purchasing the Renomee. The near future is no more tape at all, more codecs and USB importation and uploading to the internet in HD. I would use the money for a down payment for at least the S3000 or even ther S6000.

But, of course, that depends on your funds and the ability to recover costs and if your clients will be happy with SD productions. A tough call.

Well, if it has the Ultra upgrade, it is ok.
But it is strange that a lot software products are listed which can not be used anymore with the Ultra upgrade (PC Link, Arabesk2, Arabesk3, Akaba, Bluebox, Card Reader, Columbus, ...) - so the list of actually useable add-ons will be much shorter.
I would buy this unit for 1000$ or less, I think.

If you have time can you elaborate a little more on the software that can and cannot be used with this unit and why it can't be used.
