Shortening audio tracks and return them to CD

Post by Bobsday »

I have numerous audio tracks on CD for Karoke. The problem is that all of them have anywhere from 5 to 15 seconds of no sound before the track actually starts. I know that I can rip them into my Prestige and trim the music as I see fit. I have done this for years for my videos. Now, can I trim these audio tracks and get them back onto a CD to play in a CD player? Any help would be appreciated. Several operating systems ago I had a program in my PC that did exactly that but it is long gone and I have never had the need to trim music on a PC for some time. So, if it's easier to do on a PC with a cheap program, I'd do that too. I run Windows XP with Service pack 3. Thanks a bunch!!!! Bob

Hi Bob

I have never owned a Prestige but on my S-4000 in the audio audio record window on the bottom
is a button to let you burn your audio samples back to a CD as easy as putting them into the machine.
Just put your cursor on top of the button and it will say burn samples to CD.
I hope you have this option on your machine.
Good luck with it.

Bob,

It depends on your OS, that feature was added several OS versions ago.

It can also easily be done on the PC with lots of different software.

Even iTunes can essentially do that.

With ITunes you right click on the song, go to Options, set the Start and Stop times as desired.

When you then burn a CD of those songs it keeps those changed Start and Stop times on the burned CD.
My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.
