Recording Video footage onto Bogart S2000

Post by trobertson »

Hello,
I was copying some footage of a track meet from my Canon GL2 via firewire into my S2000 and it is taking forever. I get a message saying it is finalizing. Is it normal for it to take this long ?? What am I doing wrong. At this rate, it will take a while to even get to the editing.

My initial guess is that you are importing this footage into a project with a different resolution than you shot it -- for example, if you have SD footage and are uploading/importing it into a project that is set for HD, I believe this would occur as the system is up-converting your footage.

Check in Project Settings that your project resolution, etc. matches your footage.

With the GL-2, you have to set the project to SD 4:3. Chet is correct as it relates to the wrong setting. I did have an experience (way back when?) with two of the same cameras having different finalizing issues while downloading. However, that was in HD only.
