That was very good Syl. It brought back memories for me. I spent a lot of time in those climates when in the Air Force. Mine was Greenland, Iceland, and New Foundland. That was before I cared about cameras. The Music was awesome too. Thanks For sharing... Bob...

Hey Syl !! me pareciop ver unas cuantas scenes in slow motion ijn the video, o maybe

Thank you Bob would love to see Greenland & Iceland + believe it or not Newfoundland is the only province I still haven't visited.
I am doing an "Elderstory" right now on a WWII & Korean War pilot... you guys are extremely tough you have all my respect !!

Franklin no slow mo just steady slider work :) I just got a version of FCP and am looking forward to using it for some stuff to complement my S-4100.

Todo tiene sus lados negativos nuestras máquinas tienen muchos atributos positivos y puede ser muy poderosa herramienta se utiliza correctamente sólo mis 2 centavos.
aplausos

Can you shoot in 60i and then use the movie mode in 30P coupled with Twixtor?

Syl, made a good point. I guess there is a "give and take" like every other software.

Don't know if that could happen. I know MS is looking into advancing some of the software. I hope to see DENOISER some day. That would be an excellent choice. MB.....that would be great as well.

Hi Syl, I still have to master the HDSLR type of shooting...meaning I have to wean myself from the umbilical cord of uncertainty fearing that I may miss something if I don't have the luxury of a continuous loop of tape to back me up. It looks like the Nikon or the Canon line of cameras is the way to go. I did get a Canon camera (not the 7D or 5D) but was a good entry camera for what its worth, but wasn't very impressed with the image quality/sharpness (was a little soft), and lacking practice and without follow-focus contraption, I ended up with a lot of unusable footage. I ended selling it and bought the SONY Alpha 55 (still an entry level camera...makes you squirm and hide when seeing others with bigger guns like the 7D or 5D). I must say though that this small wonder has 16MP, shoots HD with continuous automatic focus while shooting HD video...why Popular Photography Magazine called it Camera of the Year due to its translucent mirror design which is responsible for its fast focus and 10fps stills.

Anyway, I will still take you up on that offer for tips and advice on shooting HDSLR movies and its communion with the Casablanca editors (I have the 4000K). Looking forward in following your Vimeo posts as well as on this longest 10-page chain in Casablanca forum history.

Eric I understand... I didn't give up my FX-1's right away... I was just using the 7d for recap but the rest of my wedding shoots were on tape.
I fell into Canon cameras by default just because my first research involved Phillip Bloom & Vincent Laforest and thats what they were using...I fell in love with the look.
In late April 2010 I got a 5d and the very next wedding shoots were all SLR's... I would only recommend shooting weddings with at least 2 but 3SLR's
is the way to go...and definitely a 5d is needed for low light situations it really out performs the 7d in this department.
...but if you are shooting in a controlled environment 1 SLR say a 50mm lens & a digital audio recorder is more than enough :)
I suggest you do a free business video profile for someone as a trial run...just a minute and half thing... this way if you fail it was free anyways (just tell the client you are testing new equipment)
If you are successful you get a great demo to show peoples !
I would be more than happy to help you with the shoot and the actual workflow over the phone.

Write me at video@renovp.com if you are interested or when you do decide.

It is possible to use these cameras and make a living I am & just do a search on Vimeo "wedding videos" and you will see thousands from everywhere on the planet.
The "Film Look" is not going away Hollywood & now TV has been using it for quite awhile :)

I know Volker is using an SLR beautifully but I would love to have more company from our community on this thread !!!
Please don't perceive this thread as showing off or anything its just nice to have all the info together in one place.

Cheers,

Syl
