I have to give Bogart a big credit for making Sony XDCAM files very easy and fast to import via the USB record menu.
I have a business contact client that uses FCP version 7 right now. Earlier this week I sent him the raw XDCAM BPAV file folder on a portable hard drive, and guess what, FCP 7 will not read or import the files without a special driver download or some sort of plug-in. He said that he would try to get the driver or plug-in next week. This will take extra time of course and delay the project and delay my final payment balance a bit. Interesting....
I want to thank Macrosystem for creating the Bogart operating system where we can import XDCAM BPAV files with a breeze.
