using VGA monitor

I just plugged my system in (Aviodvd) for the first time and trying to use a VGA and it doesn't seem to be reading anything, like it's not receiving a signal?

Not all Avio's were VGA enabled. There was an option software called VGA output. Check if that is showing as Active in Install Products list. Models with serial number prior to 219000 (if I recall correctly) will not work with VGA without a mother board modification.
