DV back up
I am trying to back up my edited footage on DV and its not working like it has in the past. I have the scene in the story board that I want to back up I then go to the finish screen and I click on DV recorder control. I have the dv tape in my gv-hd700 and the green pause light comes on like normal but then instead of the red record light coming on it just quits. Has anyone experienced this in the past? I have tried another tape and I have record manually on the tape in question. I have a dv link between my Rennie and theGV-DV700. Thanks in advance Bob....

Re: DV back up
Well after I submitted the above I tried something else I put another scene up on the story board and took the first one down. It worked as usual. I guess there is something corrupted on the first scene.

Re: DV back up
Yep, that would do it.
Using something in Special like the NOP or Control Image (with all settings at their default settings unless you want to actually tweak the Scene) and creating a new Scene will usually fix that if you want to Record out that specific Scene.

At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.

Re: DV back up
I know that you are probably aware of this as you seem to be an experienced user but even then we can sometimes forget.
I had the very same problem the other day and set it to record, walked away and came back about 10 minutes later to find that it hadn't recorded, I tried again, still it wouldn't work until I spotted "create", even something like a crossfade that doesn't need rendering usually still has to be created for output via DV.
Still I shouldn't forget that one for a while.
