Audio out of synch

Loaded the HD file of a wedding. Audio still out of sync. I also noticed something else. If I do a auto split it splits the file not at where I shut the camera off but anywhere from 1 to 20 frames before I shut it off. Anybody have a problem like that. It seems to get progressivly worse as the wedding goes on. In the beginning It's a frame or two off and at the end it's 18 to 20 frames off. I like the 4000 for the fact it gives youa full screen to view and edit with but I cannot live with these problems. It is costing me time to fix things and money.

Depending if you have Bogart 3.2c or higher, you can go into the system settings menu and adjust the AVCHD playback A/V synchronization and the split points. AVCHD can be very dificult to work with. I bet the apple software has issues with AVCHD audio sync as well, especially with long clips. I'm sure MS is very aware of this and they are continuing to improve the performance of this highly compressed video format.

This is just a thought. In you main menu do you have BOTH the audio synch function and the cut recognition set?

RECORD,PLAYBACK> AVCHD SHORTEN IN and OUT. I use 20 on each. Cut recogntion>TIME


SAME MENU above>Playback> A/V asynchronity>0Ms This can be adjusted to preview the proper audio sync.

NOTE: The audio really is for playback sync in the edit/project area and does not effect the final product. So, this may not help you. Try it anyway.

NOTE#2: The HD split issue has been around since the start of BOGART. It is not an issue anymore in BOGART 4 as we can now import individual files to the bin-pick and choose.

Thanks for everyone help I will try all those things this evening. I am loading in a wedding shot on minidv right now. I try to work on the audio sync when I have time in between SD video shot with the VX2100's

I shot my weekly church service in HD 1440 as recommended. I can not get the file to load into the 4000. It starts to load and at the end there is nothing in the scene bin. I have set the AVCHD SHORTEN IN and OUT to 20 on each. Cut recogntion>TIME
The Audio is still out of sync even with Bogart 4.0
I will use this machine for SD tape only and go to the apple for HD and hopefully in the future I can get the right settings for HD

You must have some type of problem with your machine and should have it looked at. Again, even with a SD card, you can't import HD? Sounds like you had problems from day # 1 with importation.

There has to be some reason that is related to hardware.

i had the same problem recently, did the settings as indicated for avchd in and out, etc., but FORGOT to set format to MTS, leaving it in HDV . Once I reset to MTS all synched beautifully. Just wanted to add that in case you may have had an oversight.

Where is the MTS setting?
