On my S-2000 I have some music files and some scene bin video that I wish to transfer from Bogart SE v2.4c to Bogart 4.1c. I have a Lacie 1000GB hard drive with HD Backup v1.3. What is the easiest way to accomplish this task? Thanks in advance for any help that I can get.

Re: Upgrade from Bogart SE v2.4c to Bogart 4.1c on S-2000
Tom,
Since you have the HD back-up it should be a breeze.
First connect your external hard drive (must be formatted to FAT 32) to your S-2000 then go to the HD back-up menu and you should see your external drive. Choose a name for the internal project and click save. This will take some time depending on how much data is on the S-2000. After project has backed-up/saved, then you can save your software codes via a thumb-drive by selecting the export software codes found in the install product in the lower right hand corner. After that you are now ready for a full install of Bogart 4.1c (4.1g is the latest I think). Then after full installation, connect your external drive go to HD back-up, select "restore project" and your entire project drive will be restored exactly as you left it.
There are others that will chime in to better instruct I'm sure, but I hope this helps.

The following is part of a procedure for Bogart backups, which is more detailed and may be of assistance. This was written for OS V4, so you may find the menu may be located elsewhere on your OS version.
Ian
3. Backup the Hard Drive
This program enables the whole of the internal hard drive data to be saved to an external HDD. Unlike the generator two software, this saves all the data, but not the OS or programs. Therefore by saving just the data, projects can be reloaded after a complete OS install or even the full installation of a later OS version. However, when using “Restore Projects” it will overwrite all the current internal HDD data, so any work done after the last backup will be overwritten or lost.
Backup
1. With Bogart SE V4, from the main Bogart SE menu, click the HD-Backup button in the settings window.
2. A box opens with 3 choices, click on the “Save projects (Backup) option.
3. A screen showing the source data (the detail of the internal HDD) and a box showing the destination detail, if at least one external HDD is connected. If more than one external HDD is connected, click on the selection box “Backup medium” and choose the HDD that the backup should be directed.
This box also gives the name that has been given to this HDD and any description that may have been added as to what is on the HDD. Also shown is the remaining capacity of the external HDD and how much is required for this backup.
4. Click the button “Start Backup”. Backup will begin. Note:- This process takes some time to complete, but it is recommended not to cancel the backup once it has started.
Restore
1. With Bogart SE V4, from the main Bogart SE menu, click the HD-Backup button in the settings window.
2. A box opens with 3 choices, click on the “Restore projects (Restore)” option.
3. A screen showing the source data i.e. Backup media, external HDD name and latest backup date and time. Select the appropriate HDD, if necessary and the latest date version. This screen also shows the destination, i.e. the internal HDD with some information of capacity and projects in progress.
4. When the source settings in step 3 have been completed, click the “Start Restore” button.

Tom,
I would also recommend you back-up or archive two more items, first archvie your software activation codes (done in the Install Product menu of your System Settings Screen). This will save you from re-typing the 12 digit software activation code for each software.
And IF you have created custom colors, title screens, DVD menu templates, etc you will want to archive your Archives. This enables you to export and then import or reinstall these customized settings back into your editor once you have performed a clean (or destructive) OS installation.
Hope that helps
Regards,
Chet
